Faces

I watched some videos by Kelly @ knittingandthings showing how to draw faces.

I don’t know if this is the right way to give you the link to her video, but at least I tried.

I practiced, the eyes, then the noes, then the mouth.  Then I did a couple of the faces on text pages out of a book I have.  You know, one of the books you buy at a thrift store just to tear pages out of.  🙂  After I made these, I did my Book of Mirrors Lesson 8 girl.  I think this practicing was a great help in my relaxing more as I started that page.

So I thought I would share my faces with you.

I drew each of them with a mechanical pencil and colored them in with colored pencils.

I will keep this faces and find a page for them in one of my journals.

My ambition is to learn to draw a less perfect face.  Don’t get me wrong, I know these aren’t perfect, and I need to practice this more.  However, this is not what is in my head I want to be able to do.  I know I will need to just keep working on it and sooner or later I will get where I want to go.  If you had said in March that I would be drawing any kind of face by now, I would have laughed at you.  Which tells me I just need to keep going forward and trying.

Those of you in The Glitterhood have given me such courage to keep going!  I love The Glitterhood group.  Because of Effy Wild and The Glitterhood, I now have a blog!!  I know I haven’t succeeded in completing 30 blogs in 30 days, but I am blogging and having fun with it!  I am hoping that a lot of you will continue to blog after the 30 days is up.  Effy said we might.  I hope so.

OK as you guys know, the last time I tried to post about these faces, it wouldn’t post.  But I did get a little blog to post after that.  So here goes.  Wish me luck!

Sending all of you hugs and smiles  🙂

Fantastic! I might have to go watch that too. I’m terrified of drawing faces.

I’m going to have to check out that video too. I like the effect of using the pages from a book.

Yay! So glad it posted this time. Your faces look great, I’m going to check out that video. My faces always come out ‘OK’ but my shading is appalling and I would really like to get better at that.
