What’s up for October

First a quick not about September.  I just want to pat myself on the back because I completed the 29 Faces in 30 Days challenge and I completed my Mail Art!  The 29 Faces challenge was a lot of work!  But worth it.  🙂

October is here and  here are the things I would like to accomplish this month.

  1. Get to know my blog better.  I intend to spend a good deal of time learning little tricks and tips here on my blog.  I don’t want to have to strain every time I want to do something on my blog (Like sharing a video I saw or a blog post I found interesting).
  2. I have completed the 29 Faces in 30 Days challenge, but I want to bind those faces into a book.
  3. Have fun in my Art Journal.  Something I missed while doing the 29 Faces.  Just didn’t have the time.  But I have no Art Journal (they are full) so I need to make one.
  4. Work in my Right Brain Planner.  I have received it and put it together.
  5. I want to work with my Book of Days/Mirrors.  This is week 14 and I am working on week 12.
  6. Make another date with myself.  No matter how small it is.  I want to make sure I continue with this practice.
  7. Complete more letters in my ABC Journal.  I have finished through E.

The Scattered Life Collective

Time:  9:30 am

On the Menu:  Breakfast Burrito

Out the window:  My daughter sitting with your morning cup of coffee on our patio that is covered in plants.  We have                                             about 30 plants on the patio.

Reading:  Nothing.  But I went to the library on Thursday and checked out some books to read.  Hmmm which one first?

Listening to:  The TV.  My daughter turned it on and then went out to the patio.  LOL

Watching:  Love It or List It on HGTV

Good things:

  • I will be participating in Mail Art with Christy Sobowski @ Art Geeks.  Very excited to start!
  • Enjoying my ABC journal.  Being able to do it whenever I have a moment is especially freeing.  I have just finished E.
  • I take a lot of medication… but not as much as I used to have to take and I don’t have to take any in the middle of the day.  Just morning and evening.  I find that very freeing.
  • Face Book because I get to see pictures of my grandchildren on it.  Always puts a smile on my face!
  • Trip to Old Sacramento with my daughter.  This was supposed to be my one day a month date with myself, but my daughter wanted to come to.  We had a wonderful time.

Around and About

  • This is a drawing my daughter (Cherrie Machan Herron) did in 1991.  She just found it (it had been MIA for several years) and had it framed so she wouldn’t loose it again. Image

  • Some photos (altered a bit) taken on our trip to Old Sac

Hope you had a good week!  Remember to smile!  🙂

Sharing my ABC Journal and the most recent 29 faces

I have started working on an ABC Journal.  It is just a small journal, 6″ x 9″.  I will work on it when I just want something to play in.  This is what I have completed so far.

C from a different angle.  I included a lot of items from my Happy Mail in this one.  Thanks everyone!

Then I have done a couple of faces for my 29 Faces in 30 Days.  I have posted them on the site, so some of you will have seen them.  I thought I would post them on here as usual for those who haven’t.

Reflections Of My Week

Current time:  10 40 a.m.

On the menu:  Cheerios with fresh strawberries, walnuts and slivered almonds.

Out the window:  Makaya (my cat) chasing dragonflies!  Hopefully he won’t catch any.

Read:  Moonlight & Vines a collection of short stories by Charles de Lint.  I love this

author and have a collection of his books.

Listening:  to the washing machine…doing my laundry.

Good things

  • Morning coffee.  Just switched to 1/2 decaff and 1/2 regular instead of just decaff.
  • Facebook messaging with an old friend.
  • My art makes me smile.
  • Getting some new craft supplies.
  • I just ordered the Right Brain Planner.  It will start in October.
  • Meeting my goal of working out 5 times this week.
  • Meeting my goal of 5 faces in 5 days for my 29 Faces Challenge.  Soo proud!
  • Started my ABC Journal…only finished A & B, but I did say “started”.

Icky things and their silver lining.

  • I paid all my bills for the month  🙂  Love it when I don’t have to think about it for a whole month!
  • Didn’t make a list this week of things I need to get done.  So starting a list of things to accomplish for this next week.  Seems to help if I write it down.  Not very good about making list, but they do help.

Around my life

  • Enjoying working on the 29 Faces in 30 Days challenge.  Hard to keep up, but feel it is good for me to push myself.  It is giving me the practice that I know I need and want, just usually procrastinate away.
  • Have started my ABC journal.  This is just a little, easy, fun journal.
  • Trying to decide how to bind my 3 journal that I am making with loose pages.  Never done loose pages before.  Love working on them, but can’t make up my mind on a good way to bind them.  One is my ABC journal (6′ x 9′), another is my 29 Faces Journal (9′ x 12′), and then my Mixed Media Art Journal (11 1/2′ x 12′.

I am participating with Cynthia Lee and The Scattered Life Collective.  Come play with us 🙂
