Gelli Plate failure and spray paints success

Just a quick note to tell you about what I did today.  I tried the Gelli Plate printing without a Gelli Plate (on a piece of glass).  It didn’t work very well.  The glass is too slick and doesn’t distribute the paint very evenly when I used the brayer.  So it wasn’t very successful.  Then I tried making some of my own spray paints…had a recipe that on got somewhere on u tube.  That didn’t work too bad.  Not as pretty or bright as the store bought ones, but OK.  I know have orange, pink, purple and blue.  I have one more bottle left.  Trying to decide whether to make kind of a turquoise or maybe black.  What do you think?  Let me know.

Well heading for bed.  See you tomorrow.

I too made my own spray paint using acrylic paint rubbing alcohol water and mod podge with eyeshadow for glimmer, The only problem I had was clogging, but other than that I had a goldy brown glimmer mist. Have you tried printing on a mouse pad covered with plastic wrap? Staples has a what looks like a gelli ish desk pad out there in the states for cheap, saw it on comfortableshoesstudio site, just a thought or two, hugs and blessings!

Hi Shirley! I am so happy that I found your blog! I tried the same thing with a stamp plate that did not work, but I ordered a Gelli plate and absolutely LOVE it!!!!! And I have to try making my own sprays, too!
